Auctions, As Threatened

Right now, besides some other stuff, my main writing focus are two events on a discord server I'm a part of: 5k and tfthy (the fic that haunts you).

The 5k event

5k is an event where you write a fanfic set in an alternative universe and that is not over 5k. It's a very simple event that lasts for the month of August when it comes to posting for it (you can write it whenever you want not just during August). Last year I missed this event as I wasn't really a part of the server until the last few days of August so I didn't have the time to join it nor was I following the bluesky and tumblr accounts enough to know when it was happening.

I have quite a few Ideas for this event, but the main one I'm working on right now is an umamusume alvaluca fic, set in the universe of umamusume game. This would also be the first time I'm writing a genderbend, as umas are all girls, meaning Luca would have to be a girl in this setting. This isn't something I explored much before so it's a fun thing to do. Having a lot of fun with it.

Next idea I have for this event is a dol au, this time with Ivy and Emma. Essentially, recreating the scene in the forest when the player in the game dived to get a lichen for their school project, only to get caught by the Ivory Wraith. I thing this fits both Ivy and Emma, so it's my choice for the next fic in my idv dol au series.

Last but not least, a mha fic set in an omegaverse au with some general changes to the main story because i said so. The ship is Overhaul/Setsuno, I haven't written them in so long. I haven't written anything related to that fandom in so long so it's nice to return to it now, for the first time ever, as I normally do not return to old fandoms when it comes to writing fanfics.

Tfthy

This is a very unique event. You have to pick a fic that you haven't touched in over a year that haunts you. You want to finish it, but you don't know how. You always thing about it, but never have the chance to make yourself finish it. It's like a ghost that's behind you all the time. Event lasts from September to November, so there's quite a lot of time for me to write the fic.

For this, I've decided to pick a My Hero Academia fic I originally wrote two chapters in 2019 and posted them, with another one done in 2020 but never finished or posted online. I fell out of the fandom in that point in time and was more interested in Bungou Stray Dogs. I also changed my ao3 accounts at that point in time, so after a certain point I just never looked at my old one until relatively recently when I orphaned everything and deleted it.

My goal for the event is to rewrite the original 2 chapters and then finish the fic if possible. It was an Overhaul/Setsuno fic (yes, another one) and the old writing is not that good, including how I wrote the characters at that point in time (i was 17/18 back then. I am now 23)..I might link the old fic once I'm done with it, but for now I won't be showing it anywhere. As of now, I'm on chapter 4, meaning I rewrote the first 2 chapters. I'm very happy with how that's going, as it has been so long since the last time I visited this fandom so it felt nice to see the characters again as an slightly older adult and see how I write them now.

Overall very happy so far. There are some other smaller events I want to work on later in the year, but for now these are my main focus. This is not counting zine works, which are separate for me. Hopefully everything will go as planned!

After a while, I finally decided that having a fic archive would be a good idea. I was going back an forth on if I should wait to get a supporter role on neocities but decided to just make a new account. For now, It will have a few fics, mostly ones from smaller categories to have something to work with and to be read, later I will work on getting all my bsd and idv fics up. I have a lot of them so it will take a while to have it all sorted out.

In the meantime, I am thinking if I should forget about archiving my fics here. I will still have them on ao3, my laptop and now the archive, so there isn't much need for a community here. I don't plan on getting a membership here anytime soon, so having spare space for a community is nice. Not that I plan on using them much, but at some point, it might be useful. I will still think about it well, as I still have enough time to think over it.
